bio.

underwater was formed in 1996 by jeremy wilkins (keyboards, programming, guitars) and melissa mileski (vocals). the band eventually added alec irvin on drums and an additional keyboard player/programmer, matthew jeanes.

the group's first album “i could lose”, produced by chris vrenna of nine inch nails, was released on risk records in 1998. the band also released an independent single, “red”, three remix eps and a second full length on their own sub:marine record label entitled "this is not a film".

the band broke up in 2001 after various personal developments and tragedies. a few years ago jeremy and melissa reunited and planned to produce a new record with multi-instrumentalist, george lewis III on board. the project was never officially completed but 5 tracks from those sessions have been assembled, mixed and mastered for release by predator friendly records as the “welcome home ep”.

all downloads and sales of “welcome home” will include a second ep, “wecome home part 2” which includes remastered versions of the original six songs that underwater recorded as their first demo in 1996. this package which ties their earliest days to their final days will officially be the last release from underwater as melissa and jeremy have decided to end the project forever.
